1st Stop: Nea Fokea
Nea Fokea is a charming fishing village known for its rich historical landmarks. Take a stroll through the central square, visit the Memorial of the Fallen, and marvel at the Church of St. Nicholas. Don’t miss the iconic Byzantine Tower, built in 1407, or the 12 Apostles Chapel on the hilltop. For a spiritual touch, visit St. Paul’s holy water spring, located just opposite the hill.
2nd Stop: Afitos
Perched on a 75-meter-high rock, Afitos offers stunning panoramic views of the Toroneos Gulf and Sithonia. Wander through the central square and explore the beautiful Church of Agios Demetrios (constructed in 1859). Discover the prehistoric mound of Koutsomylos, where ancient walls and quarry remnants await. While you’re here, take in the views from the cliff and enjoy your first coffee of the day with a view of the sea.
3rd Stop: Kallithea
A popular destination, Kallithea, founded in 1922, is not only known for its beautiful cosmopolitan beach but also for its ancient treasures. Be sure to visit the Sanctuary of Ammon Zeus, a well-preserved archaeological site dating back to the 5th century BC.
4th Stop: Paliouri
This picturesque village, founded in 1918, offers charming narrow roads and traditional old houses. A short distance away, the “Agios Nikolaos” settlement features two peaceful gulfs and a natural bay, home to the striking St. Nicholas Church. While in the area, visit the Church of Agios Georgios (built in 1870) and admire the traditional 19th-century houses. Don’t forget to stop by Cape Kanistro for a stunning view.
5th Stop: Agia Paraskevi
Surrounded by lush greenery, Agia Paraskevi has a long, rich history, having been destroyed multiple times during Ottoman rule, with the final destruction occurring in 1821. The village is also renowned for its thermal springs, “Loutra,” located on the southern side. Stroll through the central square, visit the Church of Timios Prodromos, and don’t leave without indulging in a natural spring spa experience. Afterward, treat yourself to a delicious meal at the local Arhontiko restaurant.
6th Stop: Nea Skioni
A small yet beautiful fishing village, Nea Skioni was founded in 1918 near the ancient city of Skioni, which dates back to antiquity. Enjoy a peaceful walk along the picturesque port and take in the village’s serene atmosphere.
7th Stop: Kassandria
As the administrative center of Kassandra, this village, founded in the 16th century, offers a mix of tradition and history. Wander through the charming square, home to a grand old plane tree, and explore the churches of the Genesis of the Virgin Mary and Agios Athanasios (both built in 1850). Don’t miss the neoclassical Town Hall, built in 1926.
